berry fantastic
Burr's Berry Farm is a hike but, every mile worth the drive! Off the beaten path is an understatement for you city folk but, in the heart of Homestead low and behold you find a small side of the road stand that makes the most incredible fresh strawberry milkshakes! They also have delicious homemade strawberry bread, banana bread, fresh strawberries and jams. The other charming thing about this is that you don't feel like your in Miami anymore its quiet and peaceful. I encourage this on a lazy weekend day but, note the seasonal schedule open from Christmas to Mother's Day.

hey, joey!
Joey's in Wynwood isn't considered new anymore but, can now be categorized as a local favorite. Saturday night was filled with smart looking locals who all seemed to have found exactly what we were; chill, yummy and easy. It was my 2nd time here in 3 weeks and I have to say its not amazing but its nice. I recommend the burrata appetizer, sardines and a 1/2 portion of your fav pasta to start. Main course you can share some pizzas perhaps try the fig and gorgonzola pizza with a spicy kick. Daily special fish dishes, meats and pastas were all pleasing to the hungry bellies.

sugar cane can change its name
Some of you loyal followers might remember a write up I did about Sugar Cane titled, Sugar Lame. Well, I believe strongly in second chances and this restaurant has won me over. So I am giving you another chance to enjoy just a few of the dishes that keeping me wanting more....Crudos (salmon, tuna, yellow tail and def. the scallops), DUCK AND WAFFLES (I dream about this) and the pork buns! I still hold my ground when I encourage you to go with no more then 4 people when your in a "tapas" "small dish" sharing situation because you won't get the full experience. Service was great and ambiance continues to be pleasant as well. I am looking forward to going back to try their brunch..hmmmm...maybe Duck and Waffles will be on the menu?!
